Brown corundum is mainly made from bauxite and coke (anthracite) as raw materials, which are smelted at high temperatures in an electric arc furnace. The grinding tools made from it are suitable for grinding metals with high tensile strength, such as various general-purpose steels, malleable cast iron, hard bronze, etc., and can also be used to manufacture advanced refractory materials.
Brown corundum has the characteristics of high purity, good crystallization, strong fluidity, low coefficient of linear expansion, and corrosion resistance. It has the characteristics of non detonation, non pulverization, and non cracking in the application process. During the spray grinding process, brown corundum can penetrate deep into the surface cavities and pits, reaching the bare surface of the metal. Therefore, it can thoroughly remove all rust, soluble salts, and other pollutants. The processed metal surface is very clean and free of embedded materials, and the quality can easily meet SIS standards
Brown corundum can be smelted in two ways: pouring furnace and fixed furnace. Fixed furnaces and dump furnaces are both types of furnaces used to produce brown corundum. Fixed furnaces are usually vertical and adopt continuous production methods; The tilting furnace, on the other hand, is inclined and adopts an intermittent production method.
The use of brown corundum abrasive: sandblasting rust removal. Stainless steel, iron parts, copper workpieces, etc. can be sandblasted with brown corundum abrasive to remove dirt and oxide scale, and increase the adhesion of coatings and layers. The same applies to sandblasting operations on plastic products, glass products, and denim fabrics; Grinding application: Brown corundum abrasive is mainly used for free grinding and is suitable for grinding glass, jade, ceramics, and precision workpieces; Raw materials for grinding tools, brown corundum abrasive is an important raw material for producing resin grinding tools and coated grinding tools, such as sandpaper, grinding wheels, and gauze; Fillers, brown corundum abrasives are commonly used in flooring materials such as factory floors, sports fields, airplane runways, and parking lots; Hydraulic cutting, using high-pressure hydraulic jet, brown corundum abrasive can be used for cutting pipes and steel; The filtering medium, which places granular brown corundum at the bottom of the filter bed, can play a role in filtering and purifying water quality, which is a newly developed application in recent years; In other applications, brown corundum abrasive is also used in non-ferrous metal beneficiation, F-sand protective electroplating, petroleum drilling mud weighting agent, and refractory materials in the steelmaking and ironmaking industries.
